Lord SivanLord Sivan is known as the principal deity in Hinduism. Lord Sivan takes many forms including Natarajar, the Lord of dance, symbolizing the cosmic cycles of creation, preservation, and destruction. In the Ardhanarishvara form, Sivan is depicted as half-male and half female, representing the inseparable union of the divine masculine and feminine energies. |
Lord Murugan, Valli and TheivanaiLord Murugan is the youngest son of Lord Siva and Parvathi and the younger brother of Lord Ganapathy. The Purunas describe him as a very daring and adventurous person. He killed the most valiant King Pathmasuran to save the Devas and as a reward, the Deva King Inthiran gave his daughter Theivanai as a bride to Murugan. He has come down to the Earth many times to bless his devotees. When his ardent devotee Valli yearned for his love and waited to marry him, he accepted her love and made her his wife. Devotees seek the blessings of Lord Murugan for courage, wisdom, and victory over obstacles. |

Lord SandeswararIn all the Saivite Hindu Temples, we can find a shrine of Lord Sandeswarar. After praying to all the deities, it is the tradition to pray to Lord Sandeswarer to conclude the prayers. Lord Sandeswarer is depicted as a very strong devotee of Lord Siva, who spent all his life in prayers. It was Lord Siva’s wish that there is Lord Sandeswarar in all the temple and he is worshipped and respected. Devotees’ prayers will be fulfilled only after they pay homage to Lord Sandeswarar. Lord Sandeswarar is always in meditation and never opens his eyes, when the devotees clap the hands, he will open his eyes and bless the devotees. |
