This is day of incarnation of Lord Muruga. The sparks form Lord Siva’s third eye (Netrikkann) transformed to Lord Muruga manifested in Saravana Poigai (Pond) as six babies on six lotuses that bloomed from the pond. At this Temple, a special Homa is performed for Lord Subramaniyar in the Morning. In the evening, a special pooja is performed for Lord Subramaniyar followed by a procession inside the temple. Devotees can sponsor the morning Homa and evening Special Pooja. An Ashdodhranama Archanai is performed during the evening Vasantha Mandapam pooja.
