This day marks the Nakshdhram (vedic star) of the Tamil month when the last Kumbabishekam (consecration) is performed. A special Sankabishekam is performed at this Temple for Lord Ganesha in the morning. In the evening, a special pooja is performed for Lord Ganesha followed by a procession inside and outside of the temple. This special Homa is performed by the Temple on behalf of all devotees. As such, no Sankabishekam and evening pooja sponsorship are available to devotees on this day. An Ashdodhranama Archanai is performed during the evening Vasantha Mandapam pooja. Devotees who would like to include their names included in this should purchase the ticket from the office prior to the beginning of the Vasantha Mandapa pooja.
