The day after the Navarathiri is Vijayathasami, the day Goddess Sakthi slayed the Demon, Mahishasuran. This is also considered as an auspicious day for beginning new ventures and first lessons. At this temple on the morning of Vijayathasami, first lesson of a child can be performed. A special pooja is conducted in the evening along with the procession of Lord Rajarajeswary Amman.
